Course Overview:
The Basic Implantology Course is a 5 days Theoretic and Hands on Course. The scope of the course is to provide basic notions on surgical and prosthetic implantology.
In the Theoretical sessions, arguments will be treated both from a clinical and scientific point of view, furnishing the necessary scientific evidences to the various proposed techniques.
In the Hands on sessions, participants will be taught about Intra-oral photo, the use of the CT for Implantology and the Installation of implant fixtures on artificial model and approach to the use of the prosthetic components.
Implantology surgical treatments and Prosthetic treatments (taken of impression or framework test) will be performed preceded and followed by discussion of the cases Moreover, every participant will insert at least 1 implant on patient, with tutor assistance. The surgical procedures will be illustrated and discussed with the aid of video.
Discussion clinical cases will be organised. In every session devoted to this matter it will be first illustrated an initial clinician case, also exposing the patient’s problems and applications. The participants will come then separated in small groups. Every group will receive the initial documentation (clinical chart, radiographies and photo) and it will have the necessary time to formulate a treatment plan.
At the end, the various proposed therapeutic solutions will be discussed and the results of the treatment performed by the chairman will be illustrated.
Didactic Material will be furnished as Slides obtained from the lessons in printed and in digital format (PDF), Revisions of the literature of various matters. The most important scientific articles in photocopy or formed PDF and the chairmen's notes.
